Our Doctors

Dr. Hutchins graduated from Michigan State University and worked in the field for 3 years before founding Lakeshore Animal Hospital in 1995. When she's not seeing patients or managing behind the scenes, Dr. Hutchins enjoys horseback riding and grooming for her nieces at horse shows. 

Dr. Forberg graduated from Michigan State University in 1999 and joined the staff at Lakeshore shortly thereafter. In her spare time, Dr. Forberg loves to travel and spend time with her family and her Tonkinese and Siamese kitties.

Dr. Jackie Sprague

Dr. Sprague is a graduate of Michigan State's College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a lifelong Michigan resident who enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, and snowshoeing in her spare time. Dr. Sprague shares her home with her husband, Patrick and her dog Rykinn!

Dr. Samantha Abel

Dr. Abel is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and joined Lakeshore Animal Hospital in January of 2020. She was born and raised here in the beautiful state of Michigan. Dr. Abel, along with her husband and 2 children, love to experience new adventures. She enjoys traveling, geocaching, arts and crafts and of course snuggling with her 2 dogs Vash and Rogue, 2 kitties Rose and Dorothy and her 9 chickens!!

Dr. Chelsea Chrisman

Dr. Chelsea joined the Lakeshore Animal Hospital team in December of 2020! She was born and raised a Michigander, attending Greenville High School and then graduating Ferris State University with a bachelor's degree in biology. Chelsea graduated from Michigan State's Veterinary program, earning her DVM degree in May 2020. Her special interests are in feline medicine, internal medicine and behavior.
